We are finally back in Utah, for good! Alex decided not to take the job offer from Garmin. Instead, he is going to spend the next few years at the Y, completing his PhD.
The Good: We get to stay close to our family and friends in UT. Plus, no move a few weeks before baby number two comes.
The Bad: We don't get to place an offer on that awesome house with a huge kitchen and mature yard.
Our last weekend in KS, we headed into Kansas City to visit the Jazz Museum and experience more of KS.
The Good: There were lots of free activities to participate in. Sadie made a bracelet, played drums with a bunch of children, and got a free popsicle from the yummy burger joint we ate at.
The Bad: The popsicle was yucky and the Jazz museum was a let down.
Sadie and I flew back to Utah a week ago, while Alex drove the car with all of our treasures in it.
The Good: We flew at night so Sadie could sleep. Alex made the trip in one day and didn't have to pay for a hotel.
The Bad: Sadie did not sleep. She was good most of the flight, except the last few minutes, where she screamed so loud I was embarrassed and tired of everyone turning around to glare at me. :( Then, when we finally get to Aunt Megan's house at about 12:30 in the morning, Sadie hits her head on the bed frame (while preparing to pray) and has to be taken to the ER. Two hours later, she has three stitches in her head and still hasn't slept. (Her head is healing beautifully and the scar will be lost in the hair line).
This past Thursday, we were able to have my 20 week ultrasound.
The Good: The baby is very healthy and cooperative. There was no problem discovering we are going to have a BOY! He will be the first grandson. I am very excited for the new addition to our family. Name suggestions are welcomed. :)
The Bad: There is no bad side to this news.
We were able to go down to Monroe this weekend and visit my family.
The Good: We got to see my family! My mom took some great family pictures for us and Sadie loved playing with all of the animals and cool toys Grandma has. Alex got to go shooting with my Dad and we relaxed the entire time.
The Bad: Now that the weekend is over, we have to get back into the school routine. A few more years of school to go. We can do it!

So fun! Big bummer about Sadie & stitches! No fun. I don't really have any name suggestions for your baby boy, but found a cool website where you can look up the popularity of a name over like the past 200 years or something. We've really liked looking up names on it :) The website is:
http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#ms=false&exact=false
And our friends in Australia shared another website with us that lets you plug in the parents names & will generate names it thinks go well with them. Kind of cool. That website is:
http://www.babycarecentres.co.uk/baby-name-generator.html
We already had our names picked out so the decision was pretty easy for us. Good luck!
We're glad you guys are back!
Al, come see me in the office (4164 JFSB) some time--I've got the chess board all set up.
As for names . . . well, I've always been partial to those beginning with letters found at the end of the alphabet. :-)
A boy! How fun! Congratulations! I had to laugh at the pictures of Sadie getting her head stitched. Trust you to want pictures of that! And I can only imagine Alex's disappointment about the jazz museum. Glad to hear you made it safely to Utah.
Kiara, thanks for the websites. I am really looking forward to exploring them. Congrats on the news about your baby being a girl. Very exciting!
